All link fields can be internet URL links or files on the local storage drive.

All link fields have a button associated with it - some buttons are on the update form, and others are on the browse windows - some link fields have a button on every browse and update form such as the internet link and support link fields.

Here are some examples on an update form. When a link field is filled with an internet URL, clicking on the associated link button will load the browser and the web page.

When a file on the local storage drive has a program that is associated with it, the path and filename can be stored in one of the link fields. Then when you click on the button associated with the link, it will open the associated program and file.

By clicking on the Lookup a file button, one of these files can be located and inserted into the link field. Some of the more popular files that have associated programs are listed in the pull down menu, such as PDF, TXT, DOC, Spreadsheet, HTML, etc.

However, you can use the ALL Files selection to choose other files that have associated programs as well.
