Search button - Search on all text fields or a QBE search.

Search All Text Fields

When you need to find information in a record or records quickly, search all text fields (including memos) is a real time saver.

Conditional Searches - Query By Example (QBE) - These searches are similar to the already existing Query feature - a single field or multiple fields can be queried, and the QBE conditional search can be saved as well.

Search or QBE Query - When a match is found, the identifying field of the record and a partial text string of the match can be displayed in a Search All Text Fields query. In a QBE query, when a match is found, the identifying record can be displayed.

In addition, records can be selectively tagged for display in a tagged only browse view, or used in a report.

Text to search for: Type in a word or short phrase. All the text fields (including memo) of every record in the browse will be searched.

Ignore Upper/Lower Case - If this checkbox is unchecked, only words or word phrases matching the Upper and Lower case spellings will be displayed and/or tagged.

Note: The following settings apply both to Search All Text Fields searches, and Conditional Searches - Query By Example.

Search String Found

Record: The identifying field of the Product record is Description, and for a Vendor record, it is the Vendor Name.

At the Search String Found window, you have these options:

Find Next - Find the next match that meets your Search/Query

Cancel - Do not display the Search String Found window for any further matches and/or tag any more records, and display Search Results window.

Continue searching without displaying matching records - When this checkbox is checked (and you press Enter or Click on the Find Next button), the Search Results window is displayed, and records are tagged if you chose that option.
